The five-minute bedtime debrief

A child’s day is long. By bedtime, most of it is already lost to the question “how was school?” Try these two questions instead.
1. “What made you feel proud today?”
Pride is a subtle feeling that gets overwritten by fatigue. Asking for it keeps the small wins real.
2. “What was hard today?”
“Hard” is kinder than “bad.” Children will tell you about hard things they’d never tell you were bad.
Five minutes. Same two questions. Every night for a month. Report back.
