Why it works

Children don't need to be fixed. They need to be taught.

Many challenging behaviours aren't defiance — they are signs that children haven't yet learned the skills to manage what they're feeling. This program teaches those skills directly, systematically, and in age-appropriate ways.

The practice, in 4 movements

Our 4-Part Learning Framework

I.

Unit 1 — Awareness

Understand yourself

Children learn to recognise emotions, identify triggers, notice body signals, and understand patterns in their reactions and behaviour. What is happening inside me?

II.

Unit 2 — Regulation

Manage yourself

Children develop calming strategies, coping tools, impulse control, and practical ways to pause, reset, and manage strong emotions. How do I handle it?

III.

Unit 3 — Social Skills

Understand others

Children strengthen empathy, communication, perspective-taking, friendship skills, and respectful social interaction. How do I interact with people?

IV.

Unit 4 — Behaviour and Decision-Making

Take action

Children apply emotional and social skills to real-life situations through problem-solving, conflict resolution, repairing mistakes, and thoughtful decision-making.

Curriculum Progression (K–5)

Skills are introduced progressively across grade levels, allowing children to revisit concepts in increasingly deeper and more age-appropriate ways each year.

  • Kinder

    Ages 4–6

    Kindergarten — Little Regulators

Awareness and regulation · Making simple choices

Children begin learning how to identify feelings, notice emotions in their bodies, and understand how their reactions connect to their actions. They practise calming strategies, taking turns, showing kindness, and asking for help in supportive and structured ways.

  • Grade 1

    Ages 6–7

    Grade 1 — Emotion Explorers

Awareness to action · Naming emotions and managing frustration

Students build emotional awareness by learning to name emotions, manage frustration, and make calm choices during challenging situations. They also strengthen social skills through listening, including others, and practising positive interactions with peers.

  • Grade 2

    Ages 7–8

    Grade 2 — Thoughtful Problem-Solvers

Deeper regulation and empathy · Recognising triggers and perspective-taking

Children develop a deeper understanding of triggers, emotional patterns, and the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. They practise empathy, positive self-talk, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for their choices and behaviour.

  • Grade 3

    Ages 8–9

    Grade 3 — Confident Connectors

Confident connection · Communication and responsible decision-making

Students strengthen emotional regulation by learning to handle stress, recognise behavioural patterns, and respond thoughtfully rather than impulsively. They also build communication skills, perspective-taking, and responsible decision-making through real-life social situations.

  • Grade 4

    Ages 9–10

    Grade 4 — Reflective Communicators

    Reflective regulation · Perspective-taking and relationship-building

Children learn to reflect on their emotions, practise self-control, and communicate respectfully in a variety of situations. They strengthen social problem-solving skills by evaluating choices, considering outcomes, and navigating social challenges more independently.

  • Grade 5

    Ages 10–12

    Grade 5 — Self-Managers

Self-management and leadership · Emotional mastery and complex problem-solving

Students develop greater independence in managing emotions, controlling impulses, and handling peer-related challenges with confidence and maturity. They build leadership, empathy, conflict resolution, and thoughtful decision-making skills that support success both socially and emotionally.
